Introducing the Jazz Player Team

We first met at the awards ceremony for the Japan-Palau Friendship Yacht Race, held from 2019 to 2020. After finishing this race, in which we both participated as members of different teams, we decided to share a further dream and join the Melbourne-Osaka Double-handed Yacht Race, which will be held at the same time as the Osaka World Expo in 2025.

The two have one thing in common: they are both business people.

This challenge, faced with work, time, budget and various other constraints, is a very high hurdle to overcome, but through this race in which just two people take turns steering a large yacht and aim for the finish line without stopping at any port, we dream of sharing the excitement that comes with it with many people, and we are now just one step away from making this a reality.

We will do our best to be a source of strength to those who support us, so please support us.

The yacht we will be racing with this time is the Bakewell-White Z39, born in New Zealand, which won a design competition to come up with a one-design cruiser/racer. The first Z39, the Jazz Player, was built by Hakes Marine. It is a reliable yacht that has a proven track record in prestigious races such as the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. As a bridge between Australia and Japan, we will continue to make sure we are prepared to complete the race.
